14. Temporary Membrane Structures and Tents Permit

    A temporary membrane structures and tents permit shall be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event. A temporary tent over 400 square feet shall require an operational permit and be approved by the Prevention Bureau of Jackson Hole Fire/EMS, as noted in the 2021 International Fire Code. The operational permit fee is $100 and will be issued on site the day of the inspection. 

16. 105.5.49 Temporary Membrane Structures and Tents

    An operational permit is required to operate an air supported temporary membrane structure, a temporary special event structure or a tent having an area in excess of 400 square feet (37 m2). Exceptions: 

    1. Tents used exclusively for recreational camping purposes.

    2. Tents open on all sides, which comply with all of the following:

    2.1.Individual tents having a maximum size of 700 square feet (65 m2).

    2.2.The aggregate area of multiple tents placed side by side without a fire break clearance of not less than 12 feet (3658 mm) shall not exceed 700 square feet (65 m2) total.

    2.3.A minimum clearance of 12 feet (3658 mm) to structures and other tents shall be provided.

    Floor plan should indicate details of the means of egress facilities, seating capacity, arrangement of the seating and location and type of heating and electrical equipment.  Shall also include an analysis of structural stability.
