EMS
About our Services
Jackson Hole Fire/EMS provides comprehensive emergency medical services from two stations continuously staffed by cross-trained firefighting and EMS professionals. Most career staff are trained to the paramedic level of care. Jackson Hole Fire/EMS’ staffed stations provide basic life support (BLS), advanced life support (ALS) ambulance with transport capability, along with ALS fire engines staffed by career firefighters. Combined, these stations cover all requests for BLS/ALS emergency response and transport within Teton County, including medical response for Teton Village Fire District, in-holdings of Grand Teton National Park, and Jackson Hole Airport.
Jackson Hole Fire/EMS also utilizes a first response system provided by our medically certified volunteer members responding from all stations when requested by notification. These members provide life-saving and BLS care until an ambulance arrives on the scene. Jackson Hole Fire/EMS maintains five ALS-equipped ambulances to answer 911 emergencies and provide medical interfacility transfers as needed.
Jackson Hole Fire/EMS is proud of its progressive and special operations EMS capabilities. This includes field ultrasound use and tactical EMS support to law enforcement personnel in high-risk environments. Our paramedic providers work in partnership with our medical directors and St. Johns Health to maintain currency in medical and trauma-related emergency response and continuous quality improvement. Our department also works closely with regional aeromedical services, Teton County Search and Rescue, and Gand Teton National Park EMS.
EMS services in the Alta area of Teton County on the west side of the Tetons are provided through agreement with the Teton County (Idaho) Fire District. Their personnel provide paramedic level service to the Alta and Grand Targhee resort areas of Wyoming.
